Our project is to learn how to bake and at the end of the project have some sort of bake sale with the profits going to charity. We wanted to do a community service sort of project but weren't sure how to execute it. We also wanted to learn how to do something. We decided we wanted to help those in need through the baking skills we learned throughout the project. First, we are going to discover what type of goods we want to bake. For example, cookies, bread, etc. Next, we are going to take online classes to learn and discover the secrets and techniques used in baking these types of items. For the first 10 weeks, we will learn and attempt to master our craft of baking. In the last 2 weeks, we will begin preparing for the bake sale and trying to partner with businesses to help fund the sale. To succeed in our project we will successfully host a bake sale with the profits going to charity.
This week was all about setting up our site. Getting logged in to weebly.com was no problem. However we had some trouble adding editors, but it all worked out in the end. Surprisingly, the trickiest part was finding the right images to upload to this website. In addition, we began to plan out the baking process. We've decided on working with specifically sweet, baked goods. This may include banana bread, doughnuts, and homemade cinnamon buns. For the first week of baking, we have decided to focus on the bread sector of baking. This includes loaves of bread, scones, and muffins. The loaf of bread we will be baking is cinnamon roll monkey bread. The scones we will be making are lemon blueberry scones. Finally, the muffins we are going to make are raspberry muffins. These choices are going to be difficult as we have never made them before, but we look forward to the challenge.
